A single flagship sign is a fabrication challenge. A forty-store retail rollout is an engineering control challenge. The fabrication is the same each time; everything around it — sites, surveys, municipal approvals, local installers, timelines — is what introduces drift.
Drift is cumulative and invisible
No single store looks noticeably wrong in isolation. A letter height rounded to suit an awkward fascia here, a slightly different white from a second acrylic batch there, a trim colour substituted because the specified coil had a six-week lead time. Individually defensible; collectively the brand no longer matches itself across a country.
What we lock down before store one is cut
- A signed physical control sample. One master letter section, approved by brand custodians and retained at our plant. Every production batch is checked against the physical object, not against a screen PDF.
- Batch-locked materials. Acrylic sheet and pre-coated coil for the entire projected rollout are bulk-ordered up front. Buying once removes batch-to-batch colour shifts entirely.
- A proportional rule, not a rigid dimension. The specification defines how the sign relates to the architectural fascia — cap height as a proportion, fixed margin clear-zones — so a narrower shopfront gets a correctly scaled sign instead of an improvised one.
Laser surveying prevents opening day disasters
The most expensive hour on a rollout is the one not spent surveying. A fascia that turns out to be hollow cladding over a cavity, an existing structural frame that cannot carry new loads, a shutter box located exactly where the power feed was drawn — each is an aborted installation and a delayed store opening.
Every site gets 3D laser-measured and shop-drawn before anything is cut. The approved drawing is what the rigger works from, and what the store manager signs.
The handover package
At the conclusion of a rollout, our clients receive a comprehensive digital handover: complete as-built CAD files, exact RAL/Pantone paint codes, photometric specifications, and spare parts allocation for LED drivers. That package guarantees true like-for-like maintenance for years to come.
